Bringing feature management visibility to your entire team
Today, we're excited to announce the WorkOS Slack app, a new integration that connects your WorkOS Feature Flags to Slack, giving your entire team real-time visibility into feature flag changes.
Available now to all AuthKit customers, this integration ensures your support, engineering, and product teams stay synchronized during feature rollouts. The WorkOS Slack app sends notifications directly to your chosen Slack channel whenever important feature flag events occur in production—no middleware required, no complex configuration needed.
It's the simplest way to keep your team informed about what's changing in your application, especially for team members who don't have access to the WorkOS Dashboard.
Why visibility matters for B2B feature rollouts
Feature flags provide precise control over feature releases, but this control comes with a coordination challenge. When multiple teams are involved in a product launch—such as engineering shipping the code, customer support fielding questions, and sales communicating with enterprise customers—everyone needs to know what's happening in real-time.
We built the WorkOS Slack app after hearing from customers who were routing feature flag events through multiple systems just to get notifications into Slack. One customer told us they needed to pipe events through webhooks into Datadog, then from Datadog into Slack—adding complexity and potential points of failure to what should be a simple notification flow.
What gets notified
The WorkOS Slack app monitors your production environment and sends clear, actionable notifications for the key events that matter to your team:
Flag lifecycle events
When feature flags are created, updated, or deleted, your team receives immediate notification with the flag name, description, and the name of the person who made the change.
Each notification includes a direct link to the flag page in your WorkOS Dashboard for quick access to full details:

Rule updates and targeting changes
The most critical notifications come when flag rules change. Your team will know instantly when:
- A flag is enabled or disabled for your production environment
- Targeting switches between All, Some, or None
- Specific users or organizations are added or removed from a flag
These notifications include the exact changes made—which users were added, which organizations were removed—giving your team the context they need without having to dig through audit logs.
Clear, actionable information
Every notification is designed to be immediately understandable. Instead of cryptic event codes or dense JSON payloads, you get human-readable messages like "Stanley Phu enabled dark-mode-toggle in the Production environment" with a clear list of affected users and organizations.
A "View event" button on each notification takes you directly to the full event details in your dashboard when you need more information.
How teams are using Slack notifications
Customer support stays ahead of tickets
Your support team often bears the brunt of feature rollout confusion. When a new feature gets enabled for a specific customer organization, support needs to know immediately—before the inevitable "what's this new button?" tickets start rolling in.
With Slack notifications showing exactly which organizations have access to which features, your support team can proactively prepare documentation and anticipate questions.
Engineering maintains awareness across deployments
In distributed teams, it's easy to lose track of who's changing what. The WorkOS Slack app creates a shared awareness channel where every engineer can see feature flag changes as they happen.
This visibility helps prevent conflicts, speeds up debugging when issues arise, and maintains a clear audit trail of who made changes and when.
Product teams track rollout progress
Product managers can now monitor feature rollouts without constantly refreshing dashboards or asking engineering for updates.
Every flag change appears in Slack with full context—seeing "Organizations added: GitHub, Brainforest Alliance" gives product teams immediate insight into rollout progress.
Getting started is simple
Setting up the WorkOS Slack app takes less than a minute:
- Navigate to the WorkOS Dashboard
- Click "Connect to Slack" in the integrations section
- Authorize the WorkOS Slack app to post to your workspace
- Select the channel for notifications
- That's it—you'll start receiving production environment notifications immediately
We've intentionally kept the initial release focused and simple. You connect to one channel per team, and all feature flag events for your production environment flow there. No complex filtering rules to configure, no decision paralysis about what to monitor—just instant visibility into your feature flag changes.
Building for the future
The WorkOS Slack app is designed as a platform for all WorkOS event notifications, not just feature flags. While we're launching with feature flag notifications to address immediate customer needs, we've built this integration to scale with your evolving requirements.
Available today with AuthKit
The WorkOS Slack app is available now for all AuthKit customers at no additional cost. If you're already using WorkOS Feature Flags, you can connect to Slack today and start receiving notifications for your production environment immediately.
Check out WorkOS feature flags in the dashboard to get started. We'd love to hear what other WorkOS events would help your team stay synchronized—your feedback will directly influence what we build next.
